Expressive Coffee Vending Machine
Selecta is the leader in vending machines.
I designed a concept of coffee vending machine facade that will make the coffee break experience smooth and straightforward.
The challenge was to design the machine’s facade without changing any technical parts initially used.
I decided to work on the visibility: these machines are placed at the back of freeway shops, one needs to directly know where to have a coffee break.
Technical parts were not appealing, especially the cup receptacle. As I couldn’t hide it, I decided to include it within a exaggeratedly visible shape to catch the eye and bring less attention on this part. I choose to design a facade as minimalist as possible adding a friendly luminous interface.
This facade is visible from far and indicate where one can have a coffee break.
Selecta team choose my project as both engineering and marketing team were pleased by its simplicity and because it made they products more recognisable from far.
As for my personal challenge, I succeeded at simplifying the interface and facilitate the machine’s use.
